Baltimore—(May 11, 2015)—MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital hosts the 22nd Annual Thomas J. Reynolds Sr. Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, June 8 at the Country Club of Maryland in Towson, an event to honor late hospital board of trustees member and avid golfer Thomas J. Reynolds Sr.
Reynolds, who served on the hospital’s board of trustees for 11 years, was a key supporter of MedStar Good Samaritan. In addition to serving on the board, Reynolds also spent many hours as a volunteer at the Belvedere Green retirement home on the hospital's grounds. He was one of the original organizers of the golf tournament over 20 years ago. Upon his passing the tournament was renamed after him.
Honoring his service and commitment to MedStar Good Samaritan, sponsors of this event will help provide the hospital with additional resources to better serve its patients and meet the growing health care needs of the community. Proceeds will help to rebuild areas of the hospital, purchase new equipment, support community outreach programs, and ensure that the best health care is available to members of the community. Funds raised from last year’s event grossed $190,000. A portion of the proceeds benefitted The Steven and Sandy Cohen Education Fund, an initiative to enhance continuing education opportunities for associates at MedStar Good Samaritan.
