Unveiling Bel Air Medical Campus on April 2, Opening Doors on April 12
Bel Air, MD—(March 23, 2016)—MedStar Health is previewing its newly constructed 100,000-square-foot outpatient healthcare facility in Bel Air at a grand opening event on Saturday, April 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The MedStar Health Bel Air Medical Campus, located at Plumtree Road and Route 924, will provide Harford County residents increased access to quality, comprehensive health care.
Featuring activities for the entire family, the event will give the public an exclusive first look at the state-of-the-art “hospital without beds.” The MedStar Health Bel Air Medical Campus will officially open its doors to patients on Tuesday, April 12.
As a one-stop healthcare destination, the facility offers an urgent care center, primary care medical offices and multidisciplinary specialized services, including women’s health, cancer, cardiology, rehabilitation, and more.
“MedStar Health is committed to providing quality, compassionate health care in communities where people live and work,” said Bob Gilbert, president of MedStar Ambulatory Services. “The convenience of having a comprehensive medical campus close by will be an obvious benefit to the individuals and families who live in the communities of Harford County.”
“The ambulatory care center also makes it possible for us to coordinate care and focus on delivering the right care at the right time,” Gilbert added. “For example, the ability to see a physician and have an MRI during the same visit will reduce the number of trips for care and time away from work. This translates to a high-quality experience for our patients, while also being an efficient and cost-effective way to receive care. Our medical providers will benefit from having colleagues easily accessible for consults regarding treatment options.”
The Bel Air site is the next development in MedStar’s expansion of care to Harford County. One in five MedStar patients is a Harford County resident, and more than 40 MedStar-affiliated physicians currently practice in the community. The MedStar Health Bel Air Medical Campus will enable MedStar to consolidate its various Bel Air locations under one roof, making it more convenient for patients and creating space for new specialists to locate in the community.
Patients will have increased access to the expertise of specialists from MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, MedStar National Rehabilitation Network, and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, with streamlined state-of-the-art medical technology. The benefits of integrated electronic health records mean patients have the added safety and convenience of their records being available at any MedStar Health site they visit.
Services at the MedStar Health Bel Air Medial Campus will include:
- Cardiology
- Imaging Services
- Outpatient Surgery
- Primary and Wellness Care
- Rehabilitation
- Urgent Care
- Women's Health
- A comprehensive cancer center: infusion services, radiation therapy, medical oncology and breast surgery experts
- Convenient parking, free Wi-Fi, and health and wellness areas that include public meeting space for use by community groups
