MedStar Health Educates Community about Heart Disease, Offers Free Screenings and Resources at Annual Heart Smart Event

heart-newsBaltimore—(October 10, 2014)—In an ongoing effort to raise awareness of heart disease, MedStar Health will host its annual Get Heart Smart event on Saturday, October 18 from 8 a.m. to noon at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. Featuring free resources and access to top experts from the region’s premier cardiovascular program, the event will educate the community about the leading cause of death in the U.S.

Free screenings and heart-focused seminars are aimed to teach participants about heart risk factors and effective, life-saving ways to reduce those risks. Available screenings include: blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference. Registrants are also invited to enjoy a heart healthy breakfast, beginning at 8 a.m.
